Tak Firdous ask administration over slow progress on new bandarkoot bridge in Kishtwar
Kishtwar 28 May The former member legislative Council of Kishtwar, Firdous Ahmad Tak, has asked and demanded justified reason by the administration over slow development on the construction of New bridge known as “Bandarkoot Bridge” at Bandarkoot area of district Kishtwar.
On speaking about the importance of Bandarkoot Bridge, Tak said, It is the only means of connectivity for thousands of people living in Madwah, Thakria, Palmar, Inderwal, Dachan and Warwann and the only connectivity to Kashmir via Sinthantop in the Chenab region”, he said.
He further added, “It is unfortunate that the prestigious project has failed to meet its deadline. The bridge is strategically important for locals as well as the CVPP which is executing Pakal Dul Hydro Electric Project. The authorities must look into the lapses and ensure the project is completed at the earliest”.
Pertinently, the Bandarkoot bridge provides the main connectivity to half of population of the district Kishtwar and it is the only passage to cross famous river Chenab in the district thus connecting the people of the area to the other side of the world. The foundation stone was laid down by the Ex-minister and Ex-MLA of Kishtwar on 14th October 2017.
Moreover, the earlier bridge was built by using huge iron rods but the flooring has been of wooden planks around 40 years ago which is, now, not anymore out of danger for daily travellers.
